Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

At Ewoks.com (“the Village,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), we guard your personal data with the same ferocity that Ewoks guard their forest. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a member of the tribe.

By using Ewoks.com, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, you may not use our services — no hard feelings, but the catapult is over there.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide (Voluntarily Entering the Village)

When you create an account and use Ewoks.com, you may provide:

  • Account information: email address, username, display name, and password
  • Profile information: bio, profile picture, favorite Ewok, favorite Village
  • Content: posts, comments, images, and other materials you share
  • Communications: messages you send to us (e.g., support requests to the Council of Elders)

1.2 Information Collected Automatically (The Footprints You Leave)

When you visit Ewoks.com, we automatically collect:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps
  • Device information: device type, screen resolution, and language preferences
  • Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies to keep you logged in and preference cookies to remember your settings

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve Ewoks.com and its features
  • Create and manage your account (your tree-hut in the village)
  • Enable social features such as posts, likes, comments, follows, and Village membership
  • Send you notifications about activity relevant to your account
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide support
  • Enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats (Imperial infiltration)
  • Analyze usage trends to improve the experience for all villagers

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We would sooner surrender to the Empire.

3. How We Share Your Information

We may share your information only in these circumstances:

  • Public content: Posts, comments, profile information, and Village memberships are visible to other members as part of the platform's social functionality
  • Service providers: We may share data with trusted third-party providers who assist us in operating the platform (hosting, analytics, email delivery) — these providers are bound by confidentiality agreements
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • Safety: We may share information when we believe it is necessary to protect the safety of our members, the public, or the Village itself

4. Cookies & Tracking — Forest Markers

We use cookies (not the edible kind — though Ewoks would probably like those too) for the following purposes:

  • Essential cookies: Required for the site to function (authentication, session management)
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings and display preferences
  • Analytics cookies: Help us understand how members use the site so we can improve it

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of Ewoks.com.

5. Data Retention — How Long We Keep Your Scrolls

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary to resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.

Publicly posted content (posts, comments) may be retained in anonymized form even after account deletion, as other members may have interacted with it.

6. Data Security — Guarding the Village

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of passwords using industry-standard hashing algorithms
  • HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers
  • Regular security reviews and updates
  • Access controls limiting who can view personal data

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security — even the shield generator on Endor had vulnerabilities. If we become aware of a data breach, we will notify affected members promptly.

7. Your Rights — Tribal Protections

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your personal data (“right to be forgotten” — or “right to vanish into the forest”)
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@ewoks.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy — Young Wokling Protection

Ewoks.com is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your young wokling has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify members via the platform. We encourage you to review this policy periodically — consider it part of your patrol duties.

Questions about privacy? Send a signal fire (or an email) to privacy@ewoks.com. The Council of Elders takes your privacy as seriously as Ewoks take their glider blueprints.
