Logray — Medicine Man and Shaman of Bright Tree Village

Logray is the spiritual heart of Bright Tree Village, serving as its medicine man, shaman, and keeper of ancient knowledge. Recognizable by his distinctive striped fur and the ornamental headdress fashioned from the skull of a churi bird, Logray commands a unique blend of fear and reverence among his fellow Ewoks.

The Keeper of Mysteries

As the village shaman, Logray is the guardian of Ewok spiritual traditions. He maintains the sacred artifacts of the tribe, brews potions from the exotic flora of Endor's forests, and interprets omens from the stars and the behavior of forest creatures. His hut, perched high in the village's central tree, is filled with totems, dried herbs, and mysterious implements whose purposes only he fully understands.

Logray's knowledge extends beyond the mystical. He is a practical healer, treating injuries and illnesses with herbal remedies passed down through generations. The younger Ewoks both seek his wisdom and tread carefully around him, for Logray does not suffer fools and has been known to test the patience of those who interrupt his work.

Role in the Battle of Endor

When the Rebels were first captured by the Ewoks, it was Logray who oversaw the preparations for the feast — with the humans as the main course. He took a particular interest in the outsiders' strange technology and was among the first to recognize the potential power of the Rebellion's cause. After C-3PO's storytelling convinced Chief Chirpa to ally with the Rebels, Logray blessed the warriors before battle and provided mystical counsel throughout the conflict.

Cunning and Tradition

Logray embodies the tension between old ways and new realities. He is deeply traditional, sometimes to the point of rigidity, yet his cunning mind allows him to adapt ancient practices to novel situations. His contributions to Ewok warfare — including the strategic use of traps and natural defenses — drew on generations of accumulated forest knowledge.
